Brain and Mind

”You can chain me, you can torture me, you can even destroy this body, but you will never imprison my mind.”

~ Mahatma Ghandi

The brain and the mind have an intimate relationship, but the mind is different. It is a collection of thoughts, patterns, beliefs, memories and attitudes. Our brains are physical organs that serve as the center of our nervous systems, and serve as the “control tower” for coordinating our movements, thoughts and feelings. The brain is a physical entity.  Our minds, however, comprise the aspect of us that is our “Self.” It is our thinking, awareness, perception and judgement.

Your mind uses your brain, but is more than your brain.

Each one of us has a unique mind. We have unique thoughts, feelings, perceptions, memories and beliefs, and these are built over our lives from our experiences and interactions in the physical world. We each also have a unique pattern of thought and processing of information that shapes the flow of energy and information inside us, and how we share this with others. Some say that we are born with this unique pattern and that it is honed or solidified through our everyday thought processes as we live our lives and as we use our minds to think, feel and respond.

Every moment our brains are engaged—capturing and storing information, enabling us to move and physically navigate the world. In short, our brains receive input from our senses and other parts of our nervous systems. It processes these inputs and acts in response.  Our minds equally are engaged in every moment—for some more consciously or with intent and for others maybe more so on auto-pilot.

Much has been written, even researched, on the brain and mind relationship. My intent in this post is not to have a scientific or medical discussion, but to explore the brain and mind in how we use them in our daily lives and to raise awareness of their respective (and inter-related) purpose so that we do not think of them as the same, and know when to let them rest. sunrise 2

The brain is a complex organ. The mind is equally complex and amazing, maybe more so, as it is connected to or is the gateway to our consciousness and sense of Self.  The mind transcends the brain and puts us on our journey to consciousness and self awareness, and some might say to enlightenment.

That is why it is so important to be mindful—to be in the state of active, open attention in the present. When we are mindful, we observe our thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them good or bad. We live or are in the moment and awakening to experience.

As we are being mindful it is important to know that it is okay to suspend the thinking pattern or thought process, to have no judgement, expectation or comparison, and to let yourself have an experience void of your past or your future state. In short, to be.  It is also a time to put your brain in low gear. It is a time to be still, calm and quiet, and to take in what your senses are giving you and simply let the information in without trying to categorize it, organize it or influence it. It is fine to put the brain and mind “on the shelf” and also to know when to take them off the shelf and put them into action.

We often overthink things, have visceral or gut reactions, see the world and our various interactions through a lens of our past experiences and influenced by expectation. There are many that automatically jump to conclusions, make inferences, judge, compare, etc.  These are times to put the brain and mind “on the shelf” for a bit and to rest and be. Once rested and with a sense of clarity and fresh perspective to then re-engage the brain and more so the mind. Here lies a path to being more in-tune with your instincts and your Self, and to enlightenment and peace of mind.

The Energy of Words

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterEmail this to someone
“If we understood the power of our thoughts, we would guard them more closely. If we understood the awesome power of our words, we would prefer silence to almost anything negative. In our thoughts and words, we create our own weaknesses and our own strengths. Our limitations and joys begin in our hearts.”

~Betty Eadie

For centuries philosophers, linguists, poets and writers all have contemplated the meaning, truth and impact of words. Merriam Webster defines words as: sound or combination of sounds that have a meaning and are spoken or written. But words are so much more. They have intent and purpose. They are the expressed or manifested mind and will of you.

Some say words have the power to do anything–to challenge, to empower, to build movements, achieve excellence, to silence critics, to spread energy or to energize. Words are energy.

But often words as intent are in your mind, heart and soul, and in the process of expressing them verbally or in written form, the vision of those words can be overshadowed by context, circumstances, expectation or interpretation fueled by yours and others experiences. We find ourselves either struggling to put our indescribable visions into words so others can understand or we short change their intent by rushing to get them out–and sometimes using the words that do not convey envisioned intent.

As an example, today we abbreviate our communications–our words. We almost short-circuit the meaning and intent–more so, their energy–by a digital shorthand of a new language of text and chat symbols and letters. Think about it, when you type an LOL, CY, FAP, GMILY, etc, are you shortchanging the intent? Are you losing the energy behind the Laugh Out Loud, Calm Yourself, Fucking A Pissed or Good Morning I Love You? Are you rushing through your emotions or feelings, or simply using a new lexicon of communications? Are your words vibrating at a lower energy? Are you not energizing your intent through your words? Milky-Way-Devils-Tower

Your words are an expression of you. Everything you absorb around you becomes part of you, and because of this your words have more fuel or energy behind them. Keep this energy with your words.

Also, in our current human existence we are in a world of duality, and so is, for most part, our words (especially in the Western part of the world). We tend to think in opposites or antonyms vs synonyms. We are missing the concept that there is not only one possible word for every possible thought or concept. There is something else beyond synonyms.

In some Eastern languages, there is a most amazing concept of meaning and intent in words that is complex yet so simple. We see this when we try to translate an English word to one in Chinese or Arabic or vice versa. We also see this is in native American languages. The words cannot be translated since the fluid intent or meaning is different and difficult to capture. It is felt more than heard.

In a recent Facebook post I talked about the Japanese phrase of “mushin no shin,” meaning, “mind of no mind.” This phrase means innocent, or one with no knowledge of good and evil. It literally means “without mind.” “Mushin no shin,” is a state of mind without fear, anger or anxiety. Mushin is often described by the phrase, “mizu no kokoro,” which means, “mind like water.”  The phrase is a metaphor describing the pond that clearly reflects it’s surroundings when calm but whose images are obscured once a pebble is dropped into its waters. Trying to translate this phase or string of words would lose its deeper intent.

The word Ruach (ancient hebrew) means explosive, expansive, surprising and creative energy that surges through all things; holding everything all together and giving the universe its life, depth and fullness.  In our current, modern world, people may understand spirit to mean something less real or tangible–as something non physical. However, when Hebrews spoke of Ruach, they were not talking about something less physical or real, they were talking about what happens when something becomes more real right before your eyes.

This leads me to call on you to use words wisely, to be aware of your divine presence and the intent of your soul expressed through words.  There is a spirituality of words that carry not only intent, but your voice of the Universe. Do not short-circuit that, underestimate that, or mis-use that.

The Unique Looking Glass of You

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterEmail this to someone

Ever since I was very young when I became conscious of living and recognized that there was a whole, big world out there filled with all sorts of different places and people, I have been fascinated by the individual or personal human experience. I was intrigued by the expanses of space and geography and how I could be having my very own personal experiences and everyone else in the world was having theirs–at essentially the same time. I was perplexed on how there were billions of people doing things, saying things, etc., and I was not part of them… not there to see it, hear it or feel it.

I used to try to imagine what it would be like to truly experience what someone else was experiencing. I wondered what it would be like to see the world through others’ eyes, and how I could somehow transpose myself into someone else’s body to see what it was like to be someone else or know at any given time not only what someone else was doing, but was part of their experience.

Maybe social media serves as that “transporter” for now and gets us closer but this still is, in a sense, one dimensional or only bi-directional. We may be able to share or be in real time and space connected through some digital interface, but not quite able to have an inter-person experience–where we experience someone’s feelings and really know what it is like to be that other person, to be in that other place, etc. This is sort of the ultimate real experience of walking in someone else’s shoes. This poses an interesting question. Are we are ever meant to have that type of experience. Maybe not. You only need your own looking glass. Altered Perception

I think fairly early on in my life I realized that each one of us is indescribably unique and we are not meant to be somewhere else, be someone else or have someone else’s experiences while in this physical space. We are who we are and where we are at any given moment for a reason.

Regardless of where you are or who you are with, your experiences–what you feel, how you interpret what you see or what you hear–are explicitly and authentically yours. No one can have them or replicate them just as you cannot have or replicate someone else’s experiences. There is something special about that, almost sacred.

Really no one else in the entire world can feel exactly what you feel. No one else can do what you do, think like you think or express themselves like you. This is amazing, perplexing and intriguing all rolled up together… and maybe meant to be.

Each one of us is a unique being experiencing the journey of our lives. It’s this uniqueness and individualism that contributes to the diversity of our world and how we enrich each others lives. I don’t think we should underestimate the importance and value of this. So as fascinating as it is to think what it would be like to be someone else, to see through their eyes, feel their emotions, to be in their consciousness, we should contemplate if would we want someone in ours.

Missing Pieces

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterEmail this to someone

Instinct–a natural desire or tendency that makes you want to act in a particular way or a way of thinking and feeling that is not learned–overall is a good thing. Instincts whisper or sometimes shout to us what we should do, say or be. They tell us when something feels good or right. They also tell us when something does not feel so good or right, or when things feel off and that there are missing pieces. This missing pieces thing is hard.

I do think that listening–really listening–to your instincts is a good thing. It can save you a lot of contemplating, worrying and over thinking, and can be enlightening and directional. But when your instincts are telling you that something is not adding up or making sense you can feel confused or sad–and even feel uncertain and alone–and fairly quickly might I add. And it’s so difficult sometimes to let that just be especially when it hurts your heart.

You go on this emotional journey of trying to reconcile what you are feeling, examining your thoughts, actions and words. You take a deep dive into yourself to see what you might be able to do to find the answer or to find the pieces that are missing. But you just can’t. icepieces sunset

You can’t sometimes because it’s not just you. There are other things in motion–energies in play. There are times people may not provide the missing pieces or fill in the blanks since they are unsure, uncomfortable, or want to spare your feelings, etc. You can ask questions and replay conversations in your head, and you can even put the feelings on the shelf to rest them a bit, but when you come back to them the pieces are still missing and a sadness starts to set in. But this is a journey since through your instincts eventually things will become more clear.

Sometimes you can string together what you know or experienced and the missing pieces start to appear–dots are connected and you have clarity. Sometimes the Universe will give you more insight or hints or put someone or a set of circumstances in your path that deposits pieces of information, and slowly but surely those missing pieces start to appear.

True, they may not always make you feel that great and a sadness or disappointment can linger a bit, but with the missing pieces in hand your ability to make choices is unblocked. You can move to working toward reconciling your feelings and accepting the current circumstances and you can hopefully find some peace and calm.

The Power of Self Validation

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterEmail this to someone

“Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your inner voice”

~ Steve Jobs

Somewhere along our life journey we find ourselves seeking validation outside of ourselves. It starts early in our lives and continues into adulthood where we go through life trying to be liked and accepted, fearing criticism, yearning adulation and craving validation. We seek approval or recognition of others so we are accepted, liked, loved, included, sought after, popular, etc. We seek validation from friends, family, bosses, teachers and even strangers.

This can be a dangerous development since along the way this need for validation or approval kills freedom and engulfs us in a form of mental slavery. In this state of seeking and living in the validation of ourselves by others we can find ourselves making choices and decisions to avoid criticism or disapproval, rather than what is most valuable or important to us.

More so, approval or validation from others can get to be addictive and before you know it you are constantly seeking or need more. In this state you are putting a higher value of the beliefs, opinions and needs of others before your own. You lose yourself and you sacrifice your dreams, desires and aspirations in order to have the approval of others. Think how paralyzing this is. The consequences are serious. You can start to have low personal fulfillment and a lack of achievement. You may have self doubt impacting your confidence and esteem. You can have an internal battle brewing that creates stress which can lead to a lack of focus and feed health issues.

And for many, they don’t even recognize it since this validation cycle becomes part of everyday life and justifiable so that we feel that we fit in or are accepted.  Society, in this current physical dimension of duality, created judgement and comparison that got internalized by many. Some of us get so preoccupied with being accepted that we lose sight of our uniqueness, our gifts and who we are. alone on deck

We are all entitled to our own thoughts, beliefs and opinions. Because you think differently to someone else or do something differently does not mean one is right or wrong or that one is better or worse. It is important to respect the right of others to have their own beliefs and opinions but to do so you must first respect and appreciate your right to your opinions and beliefs.

You must nurture your ability to think for yourself and know yourself. You must let go of the need for approval and build self-acceptance. Another way of looking at it is as self-validation and honing the ability to be able to distinguish if you are living by other’s beliefs or values instead of your own.

To start your journey to self-validation ask yourself why are other people’s opinions of you are so important to you and why do you need or seek validation of others.

Know and internalize that acceptance and love first starts with you by you and not the outside world.

Affirm that you have the Universal right to be happy and a life that is lived in purpose and love—which again starts within you.

Check in with yourself on whether you are accepting and approving of yourself. It’s your life, your soul’s journey and it’s perfectly fine that it is different from others. After all it should be—we are all unique.

And remember you are here to live an authentic life and not to live to abide by someone else’s rules or to please others.

Take the first steps today to let go of validation by others—and simply validate yourself.

Taking Responsibility For Your Health

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterEmail this to someone

When I speak with people on the topic of health the subject of ‘responsibility’ inevitably comes up. So I put some thought into why this might be, and a key point kept coming to mind. First, I noticed that most people that do not accept responsibility for their own health usually, and if this is the case are always blaming others and things outside of themselves for their ill bodily conditions.

Saying something like – ‘oh I always get sick this time of year, or that person made me sick’ is a perfect example of something I hear quite often. I believe that if you can change your lifestyle gradually to a healthier one, which includes having a healthier mindset, you don’t have to get sick every year if you really do not want to. Most of us mentally program ourselves to get sick and we don’t even realize we are doing it.

Another example is when we see a person sneezing and coughing, and our first thought is ‘uh oh, I hope I don’t catch what he has’, or we see ads on television that the so called ‘flu season’ is upon us and we think, ‘well I’ll probably catch the flu this year sooner or later’. Thinking in this way, like so many people do is disempowering to say the least. So in addition to acting healthier – exercising, eating healthier – eliminating junk food and fast food, we can be thinking healthier as well.  A good place to start is by taking responsibility for our health, whether we are sick or feeling great.

When was the last time you felt great and you said to yourself something along the lines of ‘gee I feel so good because of me, because of who I am and what I do.’ Well if you do say things like this to yourself then congratulations because most people do not give themselves enough credit for feeling good and doing their best to lead a healthier lifestyle. So what I am saying in effect is that it works both ways, you can create your own health circumstances in life or you can act as a victim and be a slave to them. shunan-bamboo-forest-02

Once we begin to actively and consciously take credit for the good, as well as the bad health circumstances we encounter in our lives, we will begin to notice that it’s up to us to how well we would like to feel and not so much on the outside world we once thought controls us. A great question to ask yourself everyday is: how did I bring this into my life? You examine your thought processes, correct your thinking and move on.

This is much more powerful than you may think, but of course prove it to yourself.

We can consciously choose to enhance our well-being and health through adding a healthy exercise regimen to our daily routine for example. This will give both your body and mind a boost and you can easily thank yourself and praise yourself for the high, glowing feeling you get after a great workout, whether it be with weights, calisthenics, yoga, pilates, martial arts, etc., you get my point.

Doing healthier activities compound over time and become cumulative. In the case that you do get sick even though you are taking supplements to enhance your immune system, exercising regularly and eating healthy… don’t beat yourself up. Accept that you allowed yourself to be sick and nothing else. Then make up your mind to get healthier and become better, faster than ever before. Don’t get negative, and you will see that over time you will stay healthier for longer and longer periods until you do not get sick anymore.

Yes it is possible to be healthy all year around, you just need to accept that it is possible.

I personally rarely, if ever get sick and I don’t remember the last time I went to see a doctor for that matter (besides my sports related injuries!). By accepting responsibility for my health and everything that happens to me in my life, I am able to stay healthy and feel great. Of course my daily activities, internal exercises, food and vitamin/supplement intake and mindset have everything to do with this.

Energy is Energy

“If you want to find the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency and vibration.”
― Nikola Tesla

There is no such thing as negative energy. Energy is energy. I know that this may seem like quite an odd statement, especially when we hear about and experience the power of attracting positive results towards our intentions with positive thoughts and actions, etc.  The “positive energy attracts positive energy or results” paradigm, and therefore its corresponding paradigm of negative energy attracting negative energy or results becomes a predominant mindset in how we function and view our interactions. I would like to explore this—negative energy does not exist—a bit with you in this post from a few perspectives.

In our physical world and living in the dimension of duality—right wrong, up down, left right, black white and positive negative—we often function in an unconscious state and in this state we attempt to rationalize or understand what we are feeling or reacting to that may not “feel good” from a position of duality or positive vs negative energy.  However, this is what we label it when we do not like what we are feeling or experiencing and we project that onto others or as a way to rationalize our circumstances.

In reality we are projecting some things about ourselves that we do not like and that we need to work through and change. Being self-aware and understanding and believing that negative energy does not exist is a major step forward. This can take time since we are somewhat hard-wired to think in contrast and opposition, as well as in judgment. It is important to be cognizant of this duality and not let it over-power your thinking.

When you start to be more self-aware you will also become more sensitive to energy around you. Sometimes you may feel uncomfortable with the energy you are sensing, and in your mindset of duality you may describe it or even “feel” it as “negative” energy. And when you feel or think this way—you may react this way as well. You want to take action to block it or avoid it. There is no such thing as negative energy, just energy that does not assist you in achieving your highest good. Remember, energy is energy and everything is energy. red canyon sun

There should be no labeling or judgment of it, for when you define it and react from this place, you lose sight of your power to create your world and work toward your intentions. Know that no one can do anything to you. You create everything that happens to you—everything in your life.  If you are discontent with something in your life this does not mean you are bad, wrong or broken. It means there is opportunity to grow. All the energy you need to change or evolve resides within you.

It is also important to note that what you are actually experiencing is the overall rising energy of the Universe. As the energy rises and gets faster, thoughts, ideas and beliefs that contradict this are going to become more apparent. We are in a time now where the vibration of the Universe is rapidly rising and the frequency of the individual is speeding up as well, many will be challenged with understanding or reconciling the change in these vibrations.

Many may feel uncomfortable or confused, and believe that what they are feeling is negative, they will try to hold onto old beliefs. But this discomfort and confusion can be viewed as part of the ascension or change process. This is when we become so uncomfortable that we know we need to break from these old beliefs and look toward something new or different. It is time to adopt a new paradigm or belief. Let go of panic and fear and observe what is true. It takes courage and conviction to take this step, but do not let the voice of self-doubt enter, knowing that energy is energy and its energy that fuels you.

This said, it is also a time, with the frequencies getting higher and faster, that everything is speeding up. So we must be aware that the time between thought and manifestation is getting shorter. If we are self-aware we will see the correlation between our force (energy) and what is in our realities (our lives). More than ever it’s important to be careful and take responsibility for what we put our focus on.

Hopefully you have gained more perspective into energy and its impact on you, and walk away with thoughts regarding paying attention to your focus and to embrace ALL energy.

Messages from the Universe

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterEmail this to someone

It’s quite easy to get stuck in your thoughts. You start out with the best intentions–to stay focused, stay positive and to let things roll, or more so, to let it go.  But sometimes you will find yourself stuck in your own head trying to navigate out of it. You go to sleep at night with your mind running a marathon of  thoughts, maybe you wake up many times over the night in the midst of odd dreams and those thoughts you went to sleep with are still running over and over. And you wake up and within seconds your mind is in overdrive and/or you just feel heavy and tired. This is an exhausting cycle, and you know you need to get out of it.

One way to look at it is that you need to experience what you are experiencing, and process it. Yes, I know–this is where you get caught up in your mind. It can be a challenge when the “flood gates” of all thoughts are opened–where your mind is jumping from one disparate thought to another or is having quite the journey through worry, sadness, fear, loneliness, etc., related to one or many circumstances or persons and trying to connect them all. After a few days of this, you find that you can’t distinguish anything anymore. It all just blends.

I learned a long time ago that this is when you need to pay attention to the message the Universe is sending you. You need a hard stop and to reset.

Remember, it’s not the external forces or factors at play that are putting you in this place or mindset. It’s how you are reacting or responding to them. We pretty much all instinctively know this.  But our minds get lost in overtime really fast and we lose sight of this knowing. We are just hard-wired this way. But you can spin out of these cycles quicker and with beneficial outcomes–as in learning more about yourself and knowing that you do have the power and the strength to get out of your head. Here are a few reminders when you find yourself on the merry-go-round of your mind.

Stop looking for answers from the Universe. Yes, they are everywhere, but seeking answers and looking for signs is probably not the best way to go. Being open, listening and feeling the answers is what you need to do. When you actively look for the message, you can set yourself up for being misled, overwhelmed or even confused. And this has the affect of getting caught up in your thoughts again. In short, when we seek signs we are letting our minds do the work. light wave

Release the question or challenge to the Universe clearly as possible and allow yourself to be open and receptive to the answers. Here you will find clarity and Universal guidance that lives within you. So ask the question. Breath deeply and release it.

Once released, stop thinking about it and be in the present. Really try to stop your thoughts or problem from dominating your every moment. Do what you do and be where you are. Don’t overthink. Don’t get into your head to try to figure it out. The answers will come. After all, they are always within you. Just remember to be open.

If you have to think or consider if something is the sign, most likely it is not. You may be forcing it.

If you, however, have a physical or intuitive reaction (that in your gut or heart feeling or it makes you feel even if for a split second that it’s a true sense of truth), you will have your answers. This is knowing. And this knowing comes from you–when it feels right, when it makes you feel lighter or when you feel in “the zone.”

Yes, when your mind is in overdrive, it can be a challenge to hit the reset button. But you can and you will. Be in the present in your life and in-tune with your body. This intuition lives in you. This intuition will direct you in the direction you are meant to go.

The Key to Staying Positive

Share on FacebookTweet about this on TwitterEmail this to someone

There is a lot of talk of ‘being positive’ and ‘thinking positive’ when it comes to self-development and taking better control of your life, and really for good reason. Ultimately, if you subscribe to the mindset that you create your reality as I do, then being a positive person and thinking positively is the way to go if you are choosing to live a more happy and evolved life. Now this does not mean that if you are always positive, negative things will not happen to you… I mean this is life! But, the key to being a truly positive person is that when negative situations do arise, it’s how you handle yourself and your reaction to the situation that matters most.

So staying positive is a choice, a decision, just like anything else in life. Your emotions are just trained responses that you have gotten used to over the course of your life. Contrary to popular belief, you do have control over your emotions and thoughts if you choose. Really though, the trickiest part to having an optimistic and positive mindset is in the beginning, when you are just starting to walk this higher level path, when you are just starting to grasp how and if this is really possible. When you find yourself mostly negative and angry more often than you would like to be and when things seem to be going wrong in your life how can you possibly be positive? Do you have to fool yourself?… fake it till you make it as they say?

Not really, it mostly comes down to your perspective… and having proper perspective is gained through awareness and detachment. Here is what I mean, look at the big picture when you find yourself in a bad situation, it’s usually not as bad as you make it out to be and not the end of the world. In most instances, we are on auto-pilot and have been taught to react negatively because really, it’s what most other people do and that is what we have mostly seen our entire lives. Our society and culture is more negative and fear-based than positive and this is reflected on tv, in the news, media, staged world events etc.  Why this is the case is another matter that I won’t get into here, but this has all influenced and programmed us over time. sun glow

But again, awareness is key. Take a step back, take a deep breath, don’t just react. Make your reaction a conscious decision, take yourself off auto-pilot. Detach yourself from what everyone else is doing and how they react. Watch your thoughts closely but don’t identify with them. Most people are controlled by their emotions and thoughts and are not in control of them. So it’s natural to see how our society thinks it is normal to react negatively to negative situations and people… garbage in and garbage out. But if you want to live a more positive existence you have to think and act differently than most people do. You have to take a different path, a higher path.

Also, if you are into doing positive affirmations, mantras, etc. or consciously taking time out throughout your day to focus on and tell yourself the positive thoughts and events you would like to see and create in your life, but you are still not seeing your mindset and life change for the positive, then it’s the time in-between that you are not being aware of.

What is the time in-between? The in-between is when you are going about your day doing tasks, chores, work etc., beyond your conscious effort to think positively and thoughts just come and go automatically which you are not really aware of. In most cases, although you think you are a positive person and are making a conscious effort to be so, you are still not aware of how unconsciously negative you really are.

It is important to know that this process is natural, so that you become even more aware of your every unconsious thought that comes in throughout the day. When you notice the thoughts that are negative, the next step is to be detached from them and don’t beat yourself up about it. Understand that this is just your mind on auto-pilot. It will take some time to retrain and reprogram your mind (I highly recommend doing some form of meditation daily to help increase your awareness and speed up this process).

Finally, turn the thought(s) around and re-frame it into its positive opposite that you would like to see and repeat it in that way at least three times. Eventually over time, this process will become a habit and you will find yourself in a more positive state of mind reaping more positive results. So in a nutshell, the key to staying positive is a simple three step process: awareness—>detachment—>reframe thoughts to positive.

When negative thoughts and situations come into your life, it’s the perfect opportunity for you to take the high road and evolve even faster as a better more positive person. Again, it’s how you perceive things that makes all the difference and what you make of it. Keep in mind also that this is a journey so again, don’t be too hard on yourself, enjoy the ride and the progress you make.

Energy Exchange

“When Your Energy vibrates at a frequency that is in direct alignment with what the universe has been attempting to deliver your entire life, you begin to live in the flow and true miracles start to happen.”
~Panache Desai

This week I want to focus on energy. Over the past year I have written about energy, I have touched upon energy on an individual level, including that we as humans are energy and that we embody and are a source of energy. I have touched upon management of one’s energy. I have also touched upon energy on a universal level, sharing with you aspects of collective energy and the benefits of tapping into positive waves of energy and good intentions.

And I have shared a fundamental Universal truth about energy exchange that we attract the energy that we are sending out. This is commonly interpreted as positive energies attract positive energies and negative energies attract negative energies. But there is a deepness to the topic of energy and energy exchange that I would like to explore with you.

Energy exists all around us. Every aspect of our world is made up of energy in varying degrees of vibration. From the Divine energy that created our souls to judgmental or manipulative energy, the energy that surrounds us and is within us is constantly moving, redefining and evolving us.

Energy is the substance that makes up life and it comes from within each of us. In every interaction we are experiencing an energy exchange. This energy exchange can be so subtle that most times we are not aware of it. Other times we may feel it physically, for instance in the form of feeling exhausted post a confrontation or a thrilling experience. And most of us know that if we dwell in a state of emotion or energy of fear, sadness, worry, etc., that we seem to attract or perpetuate this in our lives. We feel in a funk or notice that our preponderance to worry about certain things tends to create a series of events that are manifestations of that worry. If we function in a state of emotion or energy of positivity, hope, or calm, we attract more of the positive outcomes associated with this energy. space-stars

We, however, live in a physical world or dimension where we are ascending to our true Selves and reconciling our physical beings with our souls, and people of the world are at different states in this process. Sometimes this creates a competition for energy, as we try to find or fulfill a physical or emotional void when we forget that we have an unlimited energy source within ourselves and where we look to others to fill that void.

Even when a person is loving towards another, he or she can feel drained of energy, as he or she may be giving so much to the other. They think love comes from another when it actually comes from within–from within themselves as a divine source of energy. Energy flows through us and is not from a limited source that can be depleted. If we think of love as a form of energy, we should not fear its loss, as there will always be an abundance of it within us and around us.

Our energies fluctuate within ourselves and between others based on our interactions, intentions, state of mind, and circumstances. It takes focus, reflection and some effort to be grounded, to be in-tune with or understand why we are feeling certain ways, to bring ourselves back to center and to be energetically refueled.

Daily interactions with people and the energy exchanges that go hand-in-hand with this provides us with growth. We need to recognize that an energy exchange is happening and be cautious not to surrender our energy to those who are trying to manipulate it for their own purpose. Now is the time to recognize the situation for what it is and have compassion. Through compassion and understanding we overcome manipulation.

In the daily exchange of energy, sometimes we are victims, sometimes problem solvers and rescuers, sometimes manipulators and sometimes the manipulated. Throughout life we have a role in this energy exchange. To not get caught up in energy competition or struggle, we need to release the need to control or have power over others. It is best to observe what comes to us without reacting, to have trust in the Universe and that what is happening is for our highest good. This is when we use our free will to act, versus re-act. This is when we will be able to tap into the power of knowing all things.

Now is the time to take ownership of the energy that you put out in the world.
